"My employee would be so great… if only they were different."
Every founder has had that conversation in their head.

-If only my salesperson loved making 100 calls a day.
-If only my ops person had an eye for detail.
-If only my finance person didnt rub everyone the wrong way.

Here's the hard truth. They're not going to change.

You have two choices:
Option 1: Accept them. Take the "if only" tasks off their plate, hand them to someone else, and let them lean into what they’re great at.

Option 2: Let them go, and hire someone who’s built for the role.

Do neither, and the frustration sticks around forever. Yours and theirs.
