One of the best signs that you’ve built an A+ team is pretty simple: you learn something from them nearly every time you work together.

I think founders get this backward sometimes. They hire experienced people, then sit in every meeting evaluating whether those people are making the same decisions the founder would make.

That’s a pretty low bar.

When I leave a meeting with a great employee, I want to be thinking:“Wow. I never would have come up wit that idea.”

That’s the point of hiring people who are better than you at the job.

The goal is to build a team that makes you feel a less necessary in your business.

Pay attention to how often your team teaches you something. It tells you a lot about who you’ve hired and if they're the right team to get you out of the day to day.
