This famous video with 16M views from 2009 still holds one of the golden keys to business...

"People don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it."
-Simon Sinek

In Start With Why, Sinek maps this as the Golden Circle:

Why → How → What (in that order). Notice that "what" is last, and least important.

Most of us work outside-in. We lead with the product, the list of features, and the main benefits. That’s the What. Sometimes we get to the How: our process, our differentiator. Almost never do we start with Why: the belief that makes the work worth doing and the one thing your customers would actually get passionate about.

Sinek’s point isn’t soft branding. It’s how trust works. People don’t stick around for a better checklist. They stick around when your Why matches something they already believe — and then the What becomes the proof.

Purpose is what gets you the customers who stay, that buy again, and refer their friends.

If your team can’t finish this sentence without thinking about it: “We exist because…” you’re selling What and hoping How closes the deal.
